Scope and Content Note

This series contains information about Control Data Corporation (CDC) owned and leased facilities worldwide. Materials include annual and semi-annual facility summary reports (1963-1983) prepared by the Corporate Real Estate Department, listing CDC-owned facilities in the U.S. and highlighting costs, occupancy and other relevant information. Also included are European/International facility summary reports (1972-1972, 1976-1977, 1980-1982), which were prepared by the European Real Estate Department and issued separately from the U.S. facility summary reports.

The series also contains real estate lease summary reports, organized alphabetically by state, each describing the details of space leased by CDC, and materials regarding planning and organization of various facilities in the U.S. and in Europe.

Also included in this series are a number of files relating to the Inner City Plants established in the mid to late 1960s. These plants were placed in socio-economically depressed areas and focused on hiring minority workers. Materials include background information, progress reports, statistics and planning records of the Campton (Campton, KY), Capitol (Washington, D.C.), Northside (Minneapolis, MN) and Selby (St. Paul, MN) plants.
