Anderson, James P. Computer Security Technology Planning Study Volume II, ESD-TR-73-51. Bedford, MA: Electronic Systems Division, Air Force Systems Command, Hanscom Field, 1972.

This report presents the details of a planning study for United States Air Force computer security requirements, outlining the advanced development and engineering program needed to obtain open-use, multilevel secure computing capability. It presents plans for the related developments of communications security products and the interim solution to contemporaneous secure computing problems. This report defined the research agenda in information security for over a decade.
